Das Kirchenbild von "Communio et Progressio" im Kontext der nachkonziliaren Ekklesiologie

Abstract

20 Jahre sind vergangen, seit in der Pastoralinstruktion "Communio et Progressio" (CP) mit lehramtlicher Verbindlichkeit die Auffassung der Kirche von Kommunikation und Massenmedien formuliert worden ist.1 In den dazu veröffentlichten Rückblicken und Würdigungen wird immer wieder auf die rasante Entwicklung hingewiesen, die seither in der Welt der Medien stattgefunden hat; wie von selbst schließt sich dann die Frage an, ob die Aussagen von CP dieser veränderten Wirklichkeit noch standhalten. Diese Frage hat ihr Recht auch im Blick auf jene Aussagen, die CP über die Kirche und über ihr Verhältnis zu den Kommunikationsmitteln getroffen hat. Ist das Kirchenbild der Instruktion heute noch unverändert angemessen? Susanne Kampmann hat diese Frage in ihrem Beitrag "Abschied von einem horizontal-dialogischen Medienbild?" historisch formuliert und strukturelle Analogien zwischen Kirchen- und Medienbild in einschlägigen kirchenamtlichen Äußerungen herausgearbeitet. The article describes the understanding of the Church, implicit in the Statements of "Commurüo et progressio". Its foundation is the idea of salvation-history, according to which God realizes his saving plan for the world in history, i.e. the community of God and man. The Church Jives as the chosen people of God in history; she is the sacramental sign of this unity between God and man. She is to participate in dialogue with the world to serve for unity and progress of mankind. In its content, this ecclesiology corresponds to the people-of-God-ecclesiology of Vatican II; it is formulated, however, in the new language of "communio" and "communicatio". Forthat reason, it is nottobe identified with the so-called "Communio-ecclesiology", which is essentially a concept of a juridical and sacramental kind. The third part of the article refers to some contemporary theologians, who integrate the concept of "communication" into the conceptual scheme of their ecclesiology.
