The constitution on the liturgy of Vatican II (Sacrosanctum Concilium) sa ys that „broadcasting and televising of sacred rites must be done with discretion and dignity"
(No. 20). Despite the fact that in many countries liturgical services are broadcast or
televised regularly, it has to be asked if this is proper for the Churdies. There are many reasons against this, e. g., the fact that through these broadcasts non-Christians are not equal listeners or even that the broadcast of worship on the public media does !ittle to foster a reverent attitude to liturgical activity. Therefore the liturgy should be broadcast only once in a while. The Churdi should further try to find a new liturgical language for the media, whidi should be a new form of proclamation: to acquaint and stimulate mudi more than the regular sunday service.
